Mini steel works, based on electricity and collected local scrap, produce in many cases bars and rebars (reinforcing bars), in some cases bars, rebars and rod, and in some cases in addition light angles, light channels and narrow flats.

The commercial advantage of mini steel works against big conventional steel works, based on ore and coal, are less investment cost per t production and less cost for the transport of the scrap from local sources to the plant and the transport of the products of the plant to the local customers.

For more than 30 years we have worldwide experience in the planning and realisation of new mini steel works and the modernisation of existing mini steel plants, both with electric arc furnace, continuous casting unit and rolling mill with yearly productions from less than 100.000 t to more than 600.000 t.
