New Damping Material against Acoustic Emission

beotechnic offers an extraordinary new damping material:
it was developed in Japan and China and is in particular qualified for the absorption of sound.
It is available in form of fins which have – applied on e.g. panels – a sound absorbing effect.
Due to this feature it works against noise exposure of the environment.
Examples are:
• cars and other vehicles involved in road and rail traffic
• air planes
• engines
• machines
• household appliances
• and many others.
Within a wide temperature range this damping material offers excellent damping efficiency against noise and vibration and exceeds the values of conventional damping materials which
are currently available on the market.
Basis of the development of this remarkable material was a dissertation by Prof. Dr. Zhang
Cheng, carried out at the Tokio Institute of Technology Agency and the Chinese Industrial
Application Technology Research. In cooperation with the Tongjie University an the Zhejiang University Hangzhou as well as the Acoustics Research Institute in China this new
material was developed.
Special attention was paid to the environmental compatibility and the hygienic harmlessness in production, handling and disposal.
At the end, a damping material was found which
does not give off residues harmful to the environment, even in case of fire
does not give off residues harmful to health during production, processing and disposal
ensures energy saving production
is simply to process
and reaches extraordinary values in its damping efficiency.
